Voice Lessons by Haddon
Voice lessons for kids, teens, and adults in Los Angeles and online. Sing with strength, perform with heart, and build a strong, healthy voice for a lifetime of artistry.
My Mission & Philosophy
My mission as a voice teacher is to open the door to the wonder of music and the joy of singing. I believe every person- every child, every adult- has a voice that deserves to be heard, cherished, and celebrated. In my studio, students are not only learning songs and technique, but they are discovering themselves, their creativity, and their confidence.
With foundational training from Berklee College of Music, and a commitment to staying current with the latest vocal research, my teaching is rooted in vocal health. More than anything, I want my students to build strong, healthy voices that will serve them for life.
I strive to create a safe, encouraging space where students can explore freely, make mistakes bravely, and shine in their own light. Together, we dive into the magic of music: learning technique, breath work, and vocal strength, while also exploring lyrics, storytelling, and the great artists who came before us. My students learn not just how to sing a song, but how to practice with discipline, how to perform from the heart, and how to connect deeply with the art of it all.
As a songwriter, I know that singing is about more than just hitting notes- it is about emotion, imagination, and expression. Every step of the way I tailor students' lessons to their age, stage, and goals, from the evolving voices of children/teens to adults at every level. Here, music is both discipline and play, skill and magic. All are welcome. All voices matter. My hope is that each student leaves not only a stronger singer, but also a more inspired artist - carrying with them a love of singing that lasts a lifetime.
“Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent.”
-Victor Hugo
About Me
I am a Los Angeles–based singer, songwriter, and voice teacher with years of experience in crafting songs, touring, and releasing my own music. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege of performing throughout the US and Europe, opening for artists such as Don McLean, Wilson Phillips, Eric Hutchinson, and more. My most recent album was produced by Tom Rothrock (Beck, James Blunt, Foo Fighters), and I’ve had the honor of being mentored by legendary producer T Bone Burnett (Elvis Costello, Elton John, Alison Krauss). Alongside my recording career, I’ve also written music for audiobooks, film, and television. I have received years extensive foundational training under renowned vocal coach Valerie Morehouse (Olivia Rodrigo, Gracie Abrams, Sia, The Chainsmokers) and completed a specialized teacher training in contemporary voice through Berklee College of Music.
In addition to my work as an artist, I have always found purpose in working with children. I’ve spent years nannying for families and volunteering in children’s hospitals throughout the Greater Los Angeles area, writing songs and teaching music to kids through the Lollipop Theater Network. These experiences deepened my belief in the power of music to inspire connection and healing.
My own musical journey has been full of lessons- some painstaking, some joyful- but all of them have pointed me toward what lights me up. I still remember when a producer once asked me to study every single detail and note of The Beatles’ albums, Revolver and Rubber Soul. At the time, the work felt tedious, but looking back it became one of the most fulfilling seasons of my life. I can still picture myself driving down Sunset Boulevard with “Norwegian Wood” pouring through my speakers, feeling as though a new part of me had been unlocked. Music elevates our experience of life and enhances our memories. I knew then it was a feeling I wanted to keep chasing- and eventually, a feeling I wanted to help others discover. A phrase that has always guided me is: “If you seek, you shall find.” It has rang true in my own relationship with art, and it is a truth I hope to pass on to my students.
